Denver, North Carolina is a small southern town located at the east end of Lincoln County in western North Carolina. The area is rich with history that follows the development of the United States from it’s beginnings through to the present.
The west side of the lake, where Denver is located, has typically been quieter, with a “laid-back” and “easy-going” atmosphere. Denver is probably best known for the historic Rock Springs Camp Meeting, an annual religious gathering that has been continued for over 207 years and held in Denver since 1830.
With the construction of Highway 16 that makes an easier and faster commute to Charlotte, new business establishments opened on Highway 73 west of Highway 16. Big stores such as Walmart, Lowe’s, restaurants, shops, supermarket, pizza places, pet grooming salons, real estate companies popped up throughout the area.
Some former weekend homes have been torn down to develop waterfront communities. There are several waterfront communities in Denver, NC. And one of them is Westport Golf community with 700 plus homes, semi-private 18-hole golf course, tennis courts and pool. Governor’s Island is a private gated island with bridge to access the beautiful multi-million dollar waterfront homes. Norman Estates is another gated community with large waterfront homes. Beautiful water, large lots and stunning architectural designs of houses make this community stand out.
Other great communities are Sailview, Pebble Bay, Norman Pointe, Ashley Cove, West Bay and Eastwind Cove.
